I have seen quite a number of quotes advising you to put your desires and goals out to the universe and they just might come back to you. I know it worked for my dear friend Jennifer .
Jennifer took this approach when she said publicly that one of her biggest goals was to participate in a designer show house. Sure enough immediately after her speaking engagement, she was asked to design a room for last year’s Ronald McDonald Show House in the NYC metro area.
So what’s my goal? I want to be a freelance writer. Don’t worry. I will never give up Decor Arts Now. I love my blog and all of the wonderful friends and experiences I have had because of it. But I most certainly want to expand my writing for others.
Happily its already starting to happen.
It’s early days yet, but just this morning my first post for Sarah Sarna’s popular blog Live the Live You Dream About went live. There I share my favorite chic shopping venues in the Hamptons. And if you know me, you know I love to shop.
For this post, I chose locations where purchasing is unnecessary. The merch is styled so well, that the stores are inspirational even if your credit card is under lock and key. In fact, think of the post as window shopping–there are plenty of pictures to inspire, like the image of the art installation in one of the shops shown above– that you don’t need to make a trip out to the Hamptons for the post to be meaningful.
So please keep me in mind if you are looking for a contributor yourself or if you hear of a freelance opportunity.
Also on the missing list, are my pictures for Instagram. There are many you won’t find on Facebook.
Will somebody (anybody) plu-ease tell me what “best practices” are for posting on Instagram. Since it is so easy, do you always share your Instagram photos on both Facebook and Twitter? I know there is a great deal of overlap with my Facebook friends and my friends on Instagram.
In these days of crushingly high content, do you peeps really want to see photos twice?? What do you do?? Now I am asking the universe for clarification and help.
Here are some of the pretty images that I have posted on Instagram lately that haven’t gone to Facebook. Won’t you please consider following me on Instagram. Then I will know what to do.
So hello universe. It’s me, Lynn.
