My Easter centerpiece

I know not everyone celebrates Easter, but I can’t help but feel that this season’s most prevailing message is one of hope.  Something we all could use, whether Easter is your holiday or not.  Hopeful wishes to all.

xoxox,

Lynn

Sources for all of these images can be found on my tumblr, DecorArtsNow.tumblr.com  I continue to find the very best images on tumblr–it’s like a treasure hunt!  I have decided that it is for the best that hardly anyone follows me , making the images I chose to post here, fresh.  Of course, it you want to you could always add me to your feed.  MWAH.

Holiday Greetings (plus a fun last minute gift idea)

by Lynn Byrne

Don’t you just love those vintage Christmas tree brooches?!  How I would be thrilled to receive a gift wrapped just this way!

But of course it is always better to give then to receive, so I headed straight over to Etsy to see what I could find for you.  Search Christmas tree brooch and these pretties will pop right up.  Sure to bring a smile.

As  for holiday greetings—I am looking forward to a fun-filled 2014, and I wish the same for you! Please know that I am ever so grateful for all of the support you give me. See you in the New Year.

Perfect Palette for Independence Day

by Lynn Byrne

I am loving the current, washed-out, faded trend for fabrics (so summery), and I think it works great for the old red, white and blue!

Every color of the flag can be washed out, or choose just one. Think pink, as opposed to a bold red.  Or light blue or pale turquoise  instead of navy.  Anne has nailed the look when it comes to fashion.

Want to stick your toe in? Target’s new collection from FEED offers some charming and well-priced home goods in perfectly soft, patriotic hues.  Even better, with every purchase you help provide meals to children and families in America.  So shop and feel great about it.  Happy Independence Day indeed.

Remembrance and Reverie

“The average American is nothing if not patriotic.”

Herbert Croly

First, let’s remember what this day is supposed to be all about.  Deepest gratitude to all who have served our country.

Good thing it is not meant to be about summer, because we haven’t seen a trace of it in my neck of the woods.  It has been more like a chilly day in late fall.  There have been fires in the fireplace, hot tea and lots of reading–much more like the fun “Homebodies” post I did with my friends Young and Audrey over on their blog, Les Design Nerdes than summertime.
