Now Trending: A Silver and Gold Mix

This room reminds me of the wedding ring that I chose almost 25 years ago.  I love how that band of gold so perfectly highlights the silvery gray walls.  Yes, I have a love affair with mixed metals and this fall I have been seeing gold accenting silvery gray everywhere from Boston to North Carolina.

More details from Carter & Company’s room above.

Here is another pretty room in  the Junior League of Boston Show House where gold accessories pop against gray walls.  Note how in both rooms, there is lots of white thrown in to provide balance (just like my wedding dress!)

I really dig that gold rhino–a nice change from the ubiquitous piggy.  Even the coffee table book features gold to accent the pretty basket weave gray carpeting seen through the lucite coffee table.

Mixed metals rocked it south of the Mason-Dixon line as well.  Silver and gold were seen in several vignettes at the  awarding-winning Bernhardt show room.

The mix is  perfect for the holidays! Get the silver and gold look with some home accessories:

And I was so happy to see here snaps from the Bernhardt showroom. That first shot – a vignette with the laser-cut gold velvet wing chair, limestone & gold cocktail table, grey faux-shagreen wrapped chairs – oo la la!

    Happy November. And keep creating!
