Decor Arts Now

Now you see it, now you don’t.  David Stark’s  Purely Paper Flower Shop at the Broadway and 62nd street outpost of West Elm opened yesterday and will close today.  As to be expected from designer David Stark, the pop-up is highly creative, whimsical and earth friendly, if a bit impractical.  (Not sure who would wear paper wellies,  or buy a paper covered watering can).  Everything is made from old books. I was there at the opening yesterday and snapped a few shots for you to enjoy.  David is sooo clever.

The art is one thing I would rush over to buy.  Botanicals made of paper looked great and super cool.  Prices ranged from $54.97 to $149.97.

Congratulations to William Diamond and Anthony Baratta of Diamond Baratta for winning the Benjamin Moore Hue Award for lifetime achievement in the use of color in architecture and interiors.  Diamond Baratta is well known for its boldly colored interiors.  Still this is the first time the lifetime achievement award has gone to interior designers.  I hope these photos of their colorful interiors brighten your day.
